Overcome your anxiety when dealing with a stressful person

15-minute Hello session

This session is to introduce ourselves to each other, for me to get a brief summary of your situation, book the main and follow up sessions and make sure you understand the prep work to get started. If you discover I am not someone you would like to work with at the end of this session. I will refund you in full. Please note, this is not a coaching session, this time is for us to set up how we will work through your current challenge. This is important as it not only gives us a chance to meet and iron out any technical issues, but it also establishes the boundaries we will have working together on what you need to achieve.

Prep work

After our ‘Hello Session’,  I will send you some preparation work to do so we can be ready to get stuck in on our main session. This will include an information pack, an assessment of the situation and some simple ideas to get you started in the meantime. This is important because it will help you get really specific on what the problem is, how you feel about it and more importantly how we will resolve the situation together. This will help you focus on what you can do about it and give you some motivation to feel confident and positive.

90-minute video session with homework

We will have a 90-minute video session where we will work out and troubleshoot the challenge you are currently facing, we will look at possible reasons why you might be tripping up when trying to resolve it yourself and we will brainstorm how to work through it and finally what your next steps will be. We will also plan how I can give you a motivating boost each day as you work through the problem of dealing with the stressful person so you have confidence in your actions. By the end of the session, you will have achieved a higher level of understanding your options, you will have learned some strategies and techniques to be able to put into practice immediately by feeling confident in the next steps you are going to take to not just deal with this stressful person, but to also take back ownership of what you want to focus on in your life by finding your inner confidence and the resources you need.


I will give you a daily personal assessment sheet for you to complete between the main session and our follow up session. This will help you focus each day on what steps you will take, the results of any actions you put into place and importantly to assess your thoughts and feelings, so you can be prepared, confident and ready to do what is necessary. This will be valuable to you as it will help you start to keep a short journal about the situation, so you can refer back to what works well so you can repeat those actions for a positive outcome.


30-minute follow-up session

Approximately 5 – 15 days after your main session, we will have a 30 minute follow up session to work through the strategies you put into place, make any adjustments needed to tweak how you are dealing with the situation and to assess your next steps depending on what you want to happen next in your life. We will use your homework journal as a reference, so it will be important to have completed it each day to get an honest view of you.

Daily email communication

In between each session, I will send you a short email each day based on what we plan in the main session and you are welcome to reply with an overview of your day. This will help you in your follow up session to get an honest perspective of how you will overcome this stressful situation and not let it overwhelm your thoughts and bring back the positive feelings about going to work each day.

By the end of our sessions:

  • You will have a clear strategy for dealing with the stressful person in a variety of situations.
  • You will be confident in your ability to be assertive and positive when putting your strategies into place.
  • You will be able to take the next steps needed to resolve the situation to what is acceptable for you.
  • You will know where to find other resources and support when needed.
  • You will be able to focus on the work you want to do and not have to worry about someone else unnecessarily.
  • You will have learned techniques for reducing feelings of anxiety when dealing with any difficult and challenging people in your life.
